“One of the things that I’m most passionate about is women -- I’ve had so many influential women mentors throughout my life that have shown me time and time again how intelligent, powerful, and competent we are. I’m so thankful She Became has given me the opportunity to now play the role of mentor and show these little girls how loved, important, and capable they are. What we’re doing may seem simply, but you truly can tell every week how impactful it is for them.”

"I first joined She Became because I had a mentor who played a vital role in me becoming the strong, confident woman I am today, and I wanted to be that same mentor for another little girl. I enjoy participating in She Became simply because of what the program stands for: instilling confidence in young girls, and letting them know they can be whatever they want to be. I look forward to the Fridays where we see the girls; I enjoy participating in the activities with them, and they’ve also taught me a lot as well."

"She Became is one of the best volunteer organizations I have been blessed to be a part of. To have the opportunity to serve with amazing women from the University of Louisville and to empower future female leaders is something that I will forever cherish. There is nothing better than having conversations with young women about their future aspirations and goals! I have loved being a mentor in She Became and am so excited to continue volunteering for this amazing organization."

“She Became has become such an awesome part of my college career! When the program picked up speed this year, I knew I wanted to participate. As an education major, I’ve always advocated for inspiring and guiding children, especially girls. This experience has been nothing short of extraordinary— recently, one of the girls I mentor discussed her experience on the Quick Recall team with me. Another discussed the step team! It has been such a cool experience to see them both thrive in the classroom, as well as in her own individuality. The girls we encounter every Friday are so intelligent, kind, and goofy— I’m just glad I get to be a part of it, and hopefully inspire them to follow their heart and believe in themselves!”
