The She Became Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Launched in 2024, the She Became Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a dynamic leadership initiative that empowers teenagers to take an active role in advancing She Became’s mission: “Empowering girls to embrace their potential and pursue their dreams.”
TAB members engage in a variety of professional development opportunities, volunteer activities, and hands-on projects that provide meaningful experiences and foster critical skills such as leadership, fundraising, event planning, and nonprofit management. These activities are not only designed to support the mission of She Became but also to prepare TAB members for future academic, professional, and personal success.
ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS
TAB members actively participate in projects that connect them to She Became’s broader initiatives. Highlights include:
Community Impact Projects: Members played a crucial role in wrapping over 400 gifts donated during She Became’s Winter Toy Drive, ensuring that each gift was ready to bring joy to a child in need.
Fundraising Experience: Through an introduction to nonprofit fundraising, TAB members gained insights into securing resources for organizational growth, including developing strategies to engage donors and advocate for She Became’s mission.
Leadership Development: Workshops and mentorship sessions help members build essential skills like public speaking, collaboration, and time management, empowering them to become leaders within their schools and communities.
Event Planning: Members contribute to planning and supporting She Became’s events, including brainstorming ideas, organizing logistics, and engaging attendees, providing real-world experience in executing impactful initiatives.
Looking Ahead:
The Teen Advisory Board continues to grow as an integral part of She Became, offering teenagers the chance to be changemakers in their communities while developing their own potential. Upcoming activities include deeper involvement in strategic planning for community outreach, additional fundraising projects, and expanded mentorship opportunities.
Through the Teen Advisory Board, She Became ensures that the next generation of leaders not only embraces the mission of empowering others but also gains the tools to turn their dreams into reality.
